Snowdonia Society

The Snowdonia Society is the leading charity working to protect and enhance the Snowdonia National Park. The Society runs a year-round programme of enhancement and conservation events and the Society employs a part-time Volunteer Coordinator who manages this programme of events.

Much of the Society's volunteer work is carried out in conjunction with other organisations such as the Snowdonia National Park Authority, The National Trust, Keep Wales Tidy and Gwynedd and Conwy Local Authorities.

The Society offers a wide variety of volunteering opportunities including:

  • Upland footpath maintenance
  • A variety of conservation tasks such as Rhododendron clearance, woodland management, species surveying
  • Litter picks and clearance of eyesores and fly tipping.

In addition to the above opportunities, the Society also offers conservation and wildlife gardening workdays in the five acres of garden and woodland at the famous Ugly House (Ty Hyll), which is also its' headquarters.

There are between 30-35 workdays each year, so if you would like to get involved contact:

The Volunteer Coordinator on (01690) 720287 or e-mail at volunteer@snowdonia-society.org.uk
