You can help stop illegal dumping

You must make sure that your waste is removed by an authorised business or you will be breaking the law

When you use

Builders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters and joiners, kitchen, window and carpet fitters, painters and decorators, roofers, gardeners and tree fellers, house clearers, waste oil collectors, scrap metal dealers, skip hire

Make sure the waste they take away doesn't end up polluting your environment.

Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of waste. It is a significant problem that is on the increase.

Fly-tipped rubbish is unsightly to the environment and threatens human health. It happens every 35 seconds and costs £100 a minute to clear.

You can help:

1. Use a registered waste carrier. Insist on seeing their Environment Agency Wales licence, if in doubt check for registered carriers in your area on the Environment Agency website

2. Explain that they'll need to contract Environment Agency Wales to register before you'll use their services.

3. Remember if your rubbish is found fly-tipped and traced back to you, you will be held responsible.

4. Always REDUCE, REPAIR, REUSE, AND RECYCLE where possible
