Green Snowdonia Tourism Awards, 2008

Don't worry if your business doesn't tick all of the criteria listed below, we are particularly interested in businesses which have made efforts to improve their environmental practice in the last year and those who have taken an innovative approach to an environmental issue.

Entry Criteria

• Resource management (e.g. efficient use of energy/water/raw materials, reducing heating in unoccupied rooms)
  
  
• Reducing, reusing and recycling to minimize waste (e.g. avoiding unnecessary packaging on products)
  
  
• Buying locally (e.g. using your local butcher, sourcing local cheeses)
  
  
• Community relations (e.g. what does your business take from/give to/interact with the local community?)
  
  
• Training staff in good environmental practice, encouraging their support, participation and ideas
  
  
• Enlightening visitors and guests to the value of Snowdonia's environment and ways in which they can minimize the impact of their visit (e.g. providing information on the Sherpa Bus service, offering a pick-up service from the local railway station)
  
  
• Bio-diversity management - what does your business do to improve the quantity and quality of local flora and fauna?
