Egni Cynaliadwy a Thwristiaeth |
Sustainable Energy and Tourism (SEAT) |

Wrth gydnabod rôl allweddol mae’r diwydiant twristiaeth yn ei chwarae
i lunio amgylchedd unigryw Eryri mae prif elusen y Parciau, Cymdeithas Eryri
yn lansio Prosiect Egni Cynaliadwy a Thwristiaeth (SEAT), gyda apwyntiad Dr
Emma Edwards-Jones. |
In recognition of the key role the tourism industry plays in shaping
the unique environment of Snowdonia the Parks leading charity, the Snowdonia
Society, is launching the Sustainable Energy and Tourism Project (SEAT), with
the appointment of Dr. Emma Edwards-Jones. |

Mae gan Emma PhD mewn Rheolaeth Amgylcheddlol Integredig ac wedi
gweithio i Ymddiriedolaeth Bywyd Gwyllt yr Alban a Phrifysgol Heriot-Watt yng
Ngaeredin, cyn symud i Lanberis i fagu teulu. Yn sgwrsio am ei apwyntiad
dywedodd Emma “Mae hwn yn gyfle
cyffrous i weithio gyda mentrau twristiaeth ac ymwelwyr i sicrhau bod Eryri
yn cael ei fwynhau a’i reoli gyda gofal i genhedlaethau i ddod”. |
Emma has a PhD in Integrated Environmental Management and worked for
the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, before
moving to Llanberis to raise a family.
Speaking of her appointment Emma said “This is an exciting opportunity to work with tourism
enterprises and visitors to ensure that Snowdonia is enjoyed and managed with
care for generations to come.” |

Fel diwydiant allweddol o fewn y Parc mae twristiaeth yn darparu
adloniant a mwynhad i ymwelwyr, ac yn cynnal cymunedau lleol. Gyda arian gan CAE Cyllid Datblygiad
Cynaliadwy y Parc Cenedlaethol mae’r Prosiect Egni Cynaliadwy a Thwristiaeth (SEAT) yn edrych i godi
ymwybyddiaeth ac i annog dealltwriaeth o ymarferion cynaliadwy o fewn y
sector twristiaeth yn y Parc Cendelaethol. Trwy’r prosiect hwn mae Cymdeithas Eryri yn gobeithio
dangos nad yw gweithredu’n gynalaiadwy yn angenrheidiol yn cyfyngu ansawdd
profiadau ymwelwyr nac elw y busnesau twristiaeth. Yn wir mae gan twristiaeth cynaliadwy botensial I
gynyddu’r ddau! |
As a key industry within the park tourism provides recreation and
enjoyment for visitors, and sustains local communities. With funding from the National Park’s
CAE Sustainable Development Fund the Sustainable Energy and Tourism Project
(SEAT) seeks to raise awareness and encourage wider uptake of sustainable
practices within the tourism sector in the National Park. Through this project the Snowdonia
Society hopes to demonstrate that acting sustainably does not necessarily
have to limit the quality of the visitors’ experiences or the profits for the
tourism businesses. Indeed
sustainable tourism has the potential to increase both! |

Fel rhan o’r prosiect bydd Emma yn datblygu gwefan, yn dangos yr
ymarferion gorau o fewn y Parc ac yn rhoi gwybodaeth ymarferol i fusnesau
twristiaeth ar nifer o wahanol bynciau, er enghraifft;
Yn ychwanegol bydd y wefan yn rhoi cyngor ymarferol i ymwelwyr ar sut
i fod yn ymwelwyr cyfrifol tuag at yr amgylchedd hefyd. |
As part of the project Emma will develop a website, showcasing best
practice within the park and providing practical information to tourism
businesses on a wide range of topics, for example;
In addition the website will also provide practical advice to visitors
on how to become an environmentally responsible visitor. |
I gyd-fynd a’r wefan
bydd Cymdiethas Eryri yn lansio gwobr twristiaeth werdd newydd. Mae hwn yn gyfle i fusnesau ddangos
eu medusrwydd cynaliadwy a bod yn fusnes twristiaeth werdd! Bydd cymorth ar gael i arwain
busnesau I ffynonellau priodol o wybodaeth a chymorth iddynt weithredu
ymarferion cynaliadwy.

To complement
the website the Snowdonia Society will launch an exciting new green tourism
award. This is an opportunity
for businesses to show off their sustainable prowess and become a green
tourism business! Help will be
on hand to ‘signpost’ businesses to appropriate sources of information and
support to help them implement sustainable practices.

Trwy’r prosiect
hwn fe fydd y Gymdeithas yn cael ei lleoli yn fwy priodol i gefnogi cyrff
stadudol yn gwarchod ac ehangu’r Parc Cenedlaethol a thraddodiad ymarferion
cynaliadwy mewn twristiaeth. Mae
Emma yn gorffen trwy ddweud “Rwyn edrych ymlaen i weithio gyda ystod eang o
gyrff sydd mewn partneriaeth a fydd yn chwarae rhan allweddol yn y prosiect
hwn ar gyfer y ddarpariaeth o adnoddau, arweiniad a chyngor”.

Through this project the Society will be better placed to support statutory bodies in the protection and enhancement of the National Park and the delivery of sustainable practices in tourism. Emma concludes “I am looking forward to working with the wide range of partnership organisations who will play an active role in this project for the provision of resources, guidance and advice.” |

The Snowdonia SocietyThe Snowdonia Society, established in 1967, is the premier charitable organization working to protect the Snowdonia National Park. The Society works closely with the Snowdonia National Park Authority, the Countryside Council for Wales, the National Trust, the local communities and other bodies to ensure that the beauty and diversity of the landscape, wildlife and culture of Snowdonia remains for future generations to enjoy. The Society has approximately 2,500 members. |
